Connecting people and purpose.
Consulting and facilitation on governance, identity and strategy for nonprofits.
How can I help?
Leadership is hard. As the world changes around us, the demands on leaders only seem to grow. Those of you leading our nonprofits need support—you need thought partners and co-creators, collaborators and coaches. That is where I come in. If you are looking for a partner to:
Collaborate with you on integrating inclusion and belonging into your governance policies and practices
Design and facilitate profound, foundational identity work
Guide you in creating visionary adaptable strategy
Then I would like to speak with you and learn more.
My process is relational and personalized—I spend time getting to know each client both as a person and as a nonprofit leader. I get beyond simply who you serve and what you do, to hear and understand the disappointments that have brought your community to tears and the magical moments that have brought laughter and joy to all who hear them. We begin with stories and connection, and from there we create goals, strategies and statements that will drive your decisions for years to come.
I will be your partner. I am not a consultant who will appear one day and disappear the next. I am someone who will become part of your community and part of your trusted network, rooting for your strategic vision at every turn. Working with me, Executive Directors and Heads of School report feeling like they “have someone in their corner.” Since 2013 I have built my independent private consulting practice purely by word of mouth—I consider every client a reference and work hard to exceed expectations. What my clients report hearing from me most often is “how can I help?”
Working with Alexa
“Alexa facilitated a Board Strategic Planning effort when I was the Board Chair for Habitat for Humanity. This effort engaged the entire Board for 9 months -- it was well organized and focused -- resulted in a framework that the organization has used for the last 4 years as it has significantly increased its impact. Alexa has a facilitation approach that is very inclusive and challenges participants to consider other viewpoints and frames. Since, she and I have jointly worked on projects for 3 other non-profits.”
